The Challenge

APG grappled with the complexities of managing an outdated RPI system. To effectively organize, update, and report real property data, APG required an advanced Real Property Management System with intuitive graphical interfaces and current floor plans. The objective was to integrate existing systems, enhance data precision, and align seamlessly with the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS).
 

Our Solution

VanJoh provided a comprehensive array of services, leveraging expertise in real property analysis, sophisticated surveying techniques, and meticulous data reconciliation. Our approach enabled APG to gain a cohesive, comprehensive understanding of its facilities, boosting efficiency across various departments, including Master Planning, Engineering, Environmental Management, Safety, and Operations.
 

Key components of our methodology included:
 

1. Facility Surveys and CADD Floor Plans

   Our team conducted precise facility surveys using state-of-the-art handheld digital measuring tools, creating accurate architectural floor plans in Microstation V8i. These plans formed the basis for future designs and seamless integration with APG’s Space Planning System (ePRISMS).
    

2. Real Property Studies and Utilization Reports

   In-depth studies captured detailed manpower, occupancy, and usage data for over 9.5 million gross square feet (GSF) of facilities. This data was integrated into ePRISMS, enabling the creation of comprehensive Facility Utilization Reports and offering valuable insights into space utilization.
    

3. Data Reconciliation with GFEBS

   Post-survey, RPI data was carefully calculated, organized, and updated into GFEBS. This included net and gross space metrics, inspection dates, and utilization rates.
    

4. Additional Data Integration

   Our team consolidated data from a variety of sources, including reassignment records, space investigations, tenant activities, and renovation details. This ensured PRISMS served as a centralized, reliable repository for facility management.
