Streamlined Accountability for Military Real Property

The Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) required a comprehensive system to manage and report real property inventories across installations. As outlined by the Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 4165.14, maintaining a Real Property Inventory (RPI) is critical to ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) reporting standards.

Our team developed and implemented robust accountability management procedures that ensure seamless tracking of all Army-controlled real property. From the moment a Real Property Accountable Officer (RPAO) signs a Department of Defense Form (DD Form) 1354 to the final disposal of assets, our system safeguards data integrity and operational efficiency at every stage.

 

Facility Utilization: Maximizing Value, Minimizing Costs

Efficient use of resources is paramount in supporting the Army’s missions. We collaborated with installation commanders and staff to optimize facility utilization, achieving two key objectives:

1. Maximizing Existing Resources: By analyzing and improving the use of existing Army-controlled land, facilities, and space, we helped reduce the need for costly new acquisitions or constructions.

2. Strategic Shortfall and Excess Management: Our tailored solutions identified gaps and redundancies in facility assignments, enabling the Army to implement effective plans to address these challenges.

 

This approach not only preserved the value of real property assets but also fostered a quality workplace environment that supports operational excellence.
